Program Overview: Gridiron Flag Football at Davis Park, Ponte Vedra, FL, St. Johns County, as part of Unified Sports with Special Olympics Florida.  This program fosters inclusivity and teamwork among junior athletes (ages 11-15) and partners (ages 11-15) through an engaging and structured flag football league.

Program Structure:

• Location: Davis Park, Ponte Vedra, FL, St. Johns County
• Spring Season: March 28 - May 16 (OFF APRIL 4)
• Cost: Free for Athletes and Partners for only the Special Olympics program
• Teams: 4 teams (24 athletes and 16 partners)
• Age Group: Junior (Athletes: 11-15, Partners: 11-15)
• Game Time: Friday nights, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
• Fields: 2 fields, each team allocated half a football field for practice, and one referee for regular games; final game features 2 referees
• Week-by-Week Schedule:
  • Week 1: Practice
  • Week 2-6: Practice/Game (30-minute practice, 10-minute halves, 5-minute halftime)
  • Week 7: Game (20-minute halves, 5-minute halftime)
  • Week 8: Make-up rain day

Registration and Deadlines:

• Registration Opens: January 28, 2025
• Registration Closes: March 14, 2025
• Forms Deadline: March 21 for athletes and partners (all forms must be turned in to janaarnette@sofl.org

Coaching Training: In-person training TBD
